Reizo Showcase — Refrigerated Display Case

【Reading】れいぞうしょーけーす

【English Name】Refrigerated display case

A refrigerated showcase is refrigeration equipment for displaying food and beverages at low temperature, used in supermarkets and for managing neta at sushi shops. The glass-door type and the air-curtain type are representative: the former excels at controlling internal temperature, while the latter excels at ease of taking out products. In Japan, Fukushima Galilei (formerly Fukushima Industries) began mass production in 1964, and it spread along with the postwar diffusion of supermarkets. Major manufacturers include Fukushima Galilei and Daikin Industries; Daikin made Austria's AHT Cooling Systems a subsidiary in 2019. In recent years, energy-saving advances such as non-fluorocarbon refrigerants and inverter installation have progressed, and at sushi shops it has become an important tool that combines neta freshness management with visual presentation.
